Project management

Project description

Employers and their HR departments are looking for better assessment of candidates based on real proven skills. Paper certificates lack the detail and are also easy to forge. Digital certificates, especially in the form of (micro)credentials, solve this problem. Education institutions now compete on outfitting their alumni with such certificates to facilitate their jobseeking. Our unique technologies and user-friendly products enable them to do so, with the issuance of portable, verifiable and stackable credentials. These credentials are attractive due to their follow-up activities such as sharing on social business networks or collecting in wallets. Through Microcredentials-as-a-Service - Cloud Platform (MC-SaaS-Cloud) we aim to offer a comprehensive set of fully managed products for issuing, managing and sharing credentials. The cloud platform will permit a highly scalable self-service operation and a high degree of customisation to address the needs of its users.

Specifically, we aim at:
1. Achieving the most suitable cloud platform solution for fully managed credentials per tenant (educational institution) in Switzerland and in other countries, based on the latest credential formats and technologies
2. Operating a standard wallet solution for lifelong learning and digital persistence of achievements
3. Frictionless onboarding of new users including full branding customisation for badges and certificate documents
4. Enhancing the interoperability and unified management of different credential classes

Status/Results

In the first four months, the project will validate the user experience in 20+ trials both in Switzerland and abroad. The cloud platform will offer a visual branding designer, and support multiple classes of digital certificates, including skills badges and microcredentials. 10+ country regulations are supported to automatically adjust the possible certificate classes to laws and regulations.
In the final two months, an accelerated growth with 5 frictionless onboardings per month, leading to a total of 30+, will be anticipated. A country-wide wallet will be in operation, and highly secure storage becomes possible as an option for users. One more certificate class is offered for large degrees.
