FOUNDER

Gebert Rüf Stiftung was established by entrepreneur Heinrich Gebert as a science and innovation foundation. Its objective is to promote «Switzerland as a top location for business and as a place to live». The foundation is open to other donors for specific funding opportunities.

As the founder of Gebert Rüf Stiftung, Heinrich Gebert was both a provider of money and ideas. He endowed the foundation with a starting capital of CHF 220 million and set the guiding principle «science entrepreneurship» for its funding activities. Transferring the idea of entrepreneurship to non-profit science funding proved to be a sustainable innovation with high follow-up potential for the Swiss foundation landscape.

The impact of Heinrich Gebert's vision is still evident today. This is demonstrated, among other things, by Ursula Brunner's endowment from 2019. With her donation of CHF 6 million, Gebert Rüf Stiftung supports outstanding projects from the areas of activity «Digital Education Pioneers» and «InnoBooster».

If you would like to become a founder in Heinrich Gebert's and Ursula Brunner's succession, there are several options open to you. Please contact us, we would be happy to advise you.
