Project management

Project description

E-commerce shipping creates a lot of waste, including cardboard boxes, packing materials and plastic tape. Many packages are oversized, taking up unnecessary transport space and resources. SendMeBag offers a reusable shipping bag that adjusts to the product size, reducing waste and improving logistics efficiency. The bag can be easily folded and is free to return, making it a simple and practical alternative to cardboard.
A key advantage of SendMeBag is the strong and positive first impression it creates for customers of online shops. The reusable bag serves not only as a sustainable packaging option but also as a branding touchpoint that reinforces the company’s values and enhances the customer experience.
By integrating a tracking-enabled depot system, SendMeBag ensures high return rates, improving efficiency and making reusable packaging scalable in logistics. To prevent transport damage and enable a wider range of products to be shipped with our reusable bags, we are developing a protective mechanism.

Status/Results

During the Execute Stage, SendMeBag transitioned from validation to active market entry and established partnerships in various sectors and first tailored use cases were created. Early implementation projects confirmed the practical value and adaptability of the reusable shipping system across different application areas.
A tracking system was developed, enabling simple shop integration and supporting high return rates through clear application scenarios. Ongoing academic collaboration continues to refine the technical foundation, including individual bag identification for automated processes.
The project led to the formation of SendMeBag GmbH, which now operates independently and without external investor influence. Additional visibility and follow-up funding were achieved through national startup programs and awards.
SendMeBag closes a gap in the e-commerce market by offering a reusable, volume-flexible shipping bag with an integrated label and an easy return mechanism. The next steps focus on scaling and building strong reference use cases to support broader market adoption.
