Project management

Project description

«REMA’s mission is to enable the universal use of green hydrogen for a sustainable future».
This matters because green hydrogen is an alternative to fossil fuels for many sectors, such as stainless steel, fertilizers, aviation, shipping, seasonal energy storage, and other industrial processes.
We pursue this mission by delivering innovative electrolyzers capable of cutting CAPEX and OPEX, making green hydrogen affordable and competitive.
REMA has been innovating in the hydrogen field for several years, building extensive expertise in fluid mechanics. By leveraging anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology, REMA has optimized fluid-flow management within the electrolysis stack. This ensures better distribution of the reactant (water) and more efficient removal of the products (hydrogen and oxygen), while maintaining a homogeneous current distribution essential for consistent hydrogen production. As a result, the overall system performance is significantly improved. This innovation has been integrated into a new stack design that is both easily manufacturable and scalable.

Status/Results

REMA has successfully validated its technology at small scale with a demonstrator producing 1 kg of hydrogen per day. The system is fully plug-and-play, aiming for a seamless integration in industrial process, reducing adoption barriers.
The company is now focusing on deploying several demonstrators at customer sites while scaling up the system to meet the full needs of its customers.
