Project management

Project description

The construction industry is embracing digitalization to address long-standing productivity issues. While digital project planning (BIM) is being widely adopted there is still a disconnect between the information-rich digital models used for planning and the building teams, who still rely predominantly on 2d paper plans. incon.ai uses machine vision and augmented reality to provide a construction guidance platform which links building teams to shared digital building models via commodity devices like smartphones and screens. The novelty of their solution lies in its ability to not only show builders what should be built, but to identify errors and track building progress in real time. incon’s construction guidance platform first targets prefabrication applications, where it can decrease project planning effort, increase construction speed, and help manage build quality.

Status/Results

Through the support of the Gebert Rüf Stiftung and this Innobooster project, we incorporated Instructive Construction AG. We ran pilots with construction companies both in prefabrication companies and on the construction site, winning paid projects on three continents. With the learnings gained from those pilots we launched our first product, an augmented reality app that enables timber construction companies to decrease their reliance on paper plans and increase the productivity of their construction processes, in August 2022. We are now building our first subscription-based recurring revenue stream and are pursuing a seed funding round forthe first quarter of 2023.
