Project management

Project description

LIFT is an event to discuss social changes. It's a multifaceted happening designed to help explore the challenges and opportunities of technology in society: three days of engaging discussions and workshops, provocative dialogues and surprising visual and sensory experiences with one of the richest and most diverse community in Europe. LIFT mixes three main ingredients: an official program scheduled by the organizers, an open program created and managed by participants, and art installations intended to give participants a refreshing a welcoming experience.

What is special about the project?

LIFT is trying to achieve two main goals: connect and inspire. Connect as in putting people from different ages and backgrounds together and have them start a discussion. Inspire as in creating a diverse program that will confront participants to new ideas, inside and outside their fields. LIFT is about getting in touch with ideas that will be relevant for the future to better anticipate the changes ahead, to turn potential challenges into opportunities.

Status/Results

The conference is now happening for the third year. We had 35 speakers and 350 participants in 2006, and now we will welcome 700 persons from
40 countries for a three day event. At LIFT, new businesses have been started or launched, people have found partners, investors, jobs, new ideas, and much more. 93% of attendees say they will come back the next year according to an independent post-conference survey.
