Project management

Project description

The outdoor clothing industry is struggling to replace harmful chemicals in their products. Dimpora offers high performing waterproof and breathable membranes based on sustainable materials. We empower outdoor enthusiasts to finally enjoy the nature they love so dearly without leaving a trace.

Status/Results

The production of dimpora’s membranes relies for most of it on existing machinery but for one step: a washing step, at the end of the process, is necessary to create the porosity. This washing step needs further development on machines and this requires a strong collaboration with Swiss and international Textile partners. Thanks to InnoBooster, we have made significant improvements to the washing process by developing a new method, which brings more stability to fragile thin and stretchy films. We are now capable of washing for bulk orders membrane on existing automated machines with European partners and are planning at expanding this step to Asia.
