Description du projet
The cleantech start-up KUORI develops and sells sustainable next-gen materials made with organic waste such as banana peels or nutshells. The focus lies on having a positive impact on our environment by driving the transition to a circular economy and developing long-term sustainable solutions. Their first application as a B2B material manufacturer is in shoe soles to prevent the harmful abrasion of microplastics into soil and water.
In the past four months, KUORI developed from a student’s project to a founded start-up and further expanded its team. The close partnerships with the FHNW and Wildling Shoes are ongoing and a first prototype of a whole shoe with KUORI sole could be produced. We are continuing with further prototyping and lab as well as field tests to improve our material and develop a composite that fulfils all performance criteria. With the support of an Innocheque by Innosuisse and a grant by Pro Helvetia, we can intensify our research and financially support KUORI until an investment round in October.
