By providing us with your data, you agree that we can process your data for the purposes expressly stated when you entered the data or that are obviously related to the sending of your data. This concerns your project entries in particular.
These will be treated confidentially and will not be disseminated outside GRS and its external network of experts, whose representatives will themselves be asked to keep the information confidential. When completing and accessing an online application, you will need to create your own password.
We will only pass on your data to third parties if we are legally authorized to do so or if you have given us your consent to do so. External service providers who process data on our behalf are subject to strict obligations under the Federal Data Protection Act. We have made sure that the external service providers are able to ensure data security.
In addition to the information directly linked to the project entries, we use your data to inform you about GRS funding opportunities and the networking events connected with our grantmaking activities.
You can in principle visit our website without having to provide any information about yourself. When you visit our website, our servers make a temporary record of each access and store it in a log file. The following technical data is collected and stored, until it is automatically deleted after seven months at the latest:
This data is collected and processed for the purposes of ensuring system security and stability, error and performance analysis, and internal statistical purposes, and enables us to optimize our Internet offering.
We use the following technology in order to analyse and optimize our website: Google Analytics from Google LLC based in Mountain View, California, USA (hereinafter “Google”). Google is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Agreement.
Google uses “cookies”, which are stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files that are automatically stored on your computer when you visit our website. If you call up the page again, your browser will return the content of the cookies to us, allowing the device to be recognized. We use cookies to optimize our website and make it easier for you to use.
The tracking data collected by the cookies about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. The user profiles created by this tool using analysis cookies are not merged with personal data. The IP address is thus anonymized during transmission to Google before it is saved, so that it can no longer be associated with you. Google uses the method _anonymizeIp() to do this.

Google may extend this list and, if appropriate, transfer information to third parties if permitted by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
The GRS website includes links to social networks, in the case of GRS to Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. You can recognize the link by the provider’s logo. When the user clicks on the link, the corresponding social media site opens, which is not covered by this data protection statement. For details of the conditions that apply to these sites, please see the relevant data protection statements on the provider’s website.
No personal information is sent to the provider in question before the link is clicked. Your retrieval of the linked page forms the basis for data processing by the respective provider. We have no influence over the data processing operations, nor do we have any knowledge of the full extent of data collection, the processing purpose and the storage periods. Neither do we have any information regarding the deletion of the data by the provider of the plug-in.
Please be aware that the Internet is an open global network. When you transmit personal data via the Internet, you do so at your own risk.
The personal data you transmit is encrypted and protected using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL)[1]. Despite extensive technical and organizational security measures, it is still possible for data to be lost or be intercepted and/or manipulated by unauthorized persons. GRS takes the appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent this happening within the GRS system. However, your computer is outside of the security area controlled by GRS. It is up to you as the user to find out about the required security precautions and to take appropriate measures in this regard. Under no circumstances is GRS liable for any damage that you may incur from data loss or manipulation.
All GRS data is stored in Switzerland and secured by regular backups.
Project data is kept for 10 years for legal reasons, although the data can be archived beyond this duration for statistical reasons.
The project data associated with a funding project will be published on this website in the spirit of transparent information provided by GRS to the public. The project management is responsible for the content of this information.
[1] Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is a protocol for the secure transmission of data on the Internet, and is supported by most browsers. SSL uses the public-key process, in which data encoded with a public key can only be decoded with a specific private key. Most browsers display a key or padlock to indicate whether a connection is secure.
By using this website, you consent to the processing of the data collected about you in the manner described and for the purposes mentioned.
