Projektbeschreibung
Today, we heat entire rooms and car interiors to keep people warm. It would be much more energy-efficient to heat the air surrounding people or even directly the people themselves. Current product heating solutions on the market use heating wires in for example heated clothing, shoes, car seats, furniture, and more. However, heating mats made of heating wires show difficult post-fabrication design flexibility, are thick because of an upholstery layer, which is required to distribute the heat evenly, and lead to heat loss across this upholstery layer, which results in inefficient heating. At qCella, we have developed a new solution: a paper-thin, smooth, and flexible heating mat that heats fully homogenously. These mats can be cut into any shape and size, making them highly customizable. Due to their thinness and smooth surface structure, the heating mats can be worn or placed much closer to the human body without the need for additional upholstery, resulting in a significant reduction in heat loss and a more energy-efficient heating.
Stand/Resultate
The goal of this project is to finalize our heating mats with electronic control units, cabling and plugs and to make the qCella heating mats market-ready.
