Projektbeschreibung
Climbing is a trend sport and has now established itself as a leisure sport. Therapeutic climbing is an alternative to standard physiotherapy and has also established itself as a popular treatment method. But the problem is, climbing requires strength. Some patients that suffer for example from a handicap, overweight chronic illnesses, sensomotoric disorders or paraplegia do not have enough strength to climb on their own. That is where the eClimber steps in.
The eClimber is a device that supports the climbing person by reducing their bodyweight. It is kind of like an E-Bike for climbing. The eClimber has an integrated bodyweight support system as well as an integrated auto-belay system. The patient is securely attached to a rope and with the reduced bodyweight, climbing becomes possible for many, when not all persons. Therapeutic climbing benefits greatly from our technology because with the eClimber, physical prerequisites are no longer necessary. This is how the eClimber revolutionizes climbing.
Stand/Resultate
Thanks to the support of Gebert Rüf Stiftung, we were able to develop our proof of concept into a functional prototype that fulfils all relevant standards. A patent application has been filed for the developed technology. In parallel with the technical development of the eClimber, we have developed a business model and started to set up the supply chain. The new funding from the BRIDGE Proof of Concept programme secures our financing for the future and enables us to certify the eClimber now.
