Projektbeschreibung
Biodiversity is declining at an alarming rate, yet for many young people, nature feels distant and abstract. Traditional education often struggles to spark emotional connections, while digital entertainment dominates their everyday lives. Anura-League bridges this gap by turning mobile gaming into a playful entry point to biodiversity awareness. The game combines real-world exploration, AI-supported plant recognition, and collectible card battles inspired by ecological strategies. By scanning plants and discovering animals in their habitats, players build their own digital species lexicon. With features such as Anura School for teachers and Anura Nature-Quest for cities, the platform connects entertainment with education and urban biodiversity initiatives.
Stand/Resultate
We have developed a unique workflow that enables us to use open-source GIS data and integrate it into our prototype, creating a digital twin of real ecosystems that players can explore in a playful way. Our prototype has been tested with over 120 teenagers across six school classes, demonstrating both strong engagement and significant educational value. Building on this foundation, we are now progressing toward the Alpha version of the game, strengthening our core team with two professional game designers, and preparing for a crowdfunding campaign to support the next stage of development.
