Projektbeschreibung

Many museum visitors struggle to connect with exhibitions - they often lack context, storytelling, and a personal approach. Nearly half of adults report rarely or never visiting museums, partly because institutions communicate in a “one-size-fits-all” way that doesn’t reflect the diversity of audiences.
Fresq changes this. It is an AI-powered, personalized museum guide that adapts to each visitor’s knowledge level, interests, and language. Unlike traditional audio guides, Fresq interacts in real time, answering visitor questions and curating stories dynamically.
By combining large language models (LLMs) with museum-curated data, Fresq makes cultural experiences more inclusive, engaging, and accessible. The system allows curators to remain in full control of content while giving visitors a personal, conversational companion for exploration. Fresq makes cultural experiences more engaging, inclusive, and accessible - while allowing curators to stay in full control of content.

Stand/Resultate

During the first project stage (April–September 2025), Fresq evolved from a concept into a working minimum viable product (MVP). The backend infrastructure and visitor interface were completed, and an initial version of the content management system (CMS) for museums is operational.
A pilot with Aargauer Kunsthaus (Aarau) is in preparation for December 2025, and negotiations are ongoing with other potential clients. Direct feedback from museums and early tests with visitors confirmed a strong interest in Fresq’s approach and functionality.
A major technical milestone was reached by developing a custom backend that reduced the costs of real-time AI conversations by over 80%, making the system sustainable for institutional adoption.
Fresq has also defined a hybrid business model, allowing museums to share in the revenue generated by visitors using the guide. The project has gained visibility through events such as SITEM 2025 (Louvre) and the Creative Economies Forum (Zurich), and will publicly launch at the Museum Connections Fair 2026 in Paris.

The next phase will focus on pilot execution, refining scalability for different museum types, and expanding the team to support growing international collaborations.

Planned outcomes:
- A fully functional AI-powered guide ready for museums.
- First museum partnerships.
- Launch Fresq commercially as a SaaS platform for museums worldwide. Expansion roadmap for scaling.

Fresq is designed as a SaaS model, ensuring museums can autonomously easily adopt and customize the content without hardware installations.
Future vision: We aim to secure follow-up funding and expand our partnerships with cultural institutions across the Europe.
