Projektbeschreibung
Today, commercial divers play a crucial role in various underwater operations to conduct inspections and inter- ventions, despite lethal risks. These risks are amplified by turbulent currents and obstructed visibility, which persists over sea, lake or river environments. While robotic solutions exist, they either lack robustness in all relevant metrics required for rough waters or require cost-intensive, polluting vessels and infrastructure.
Tethys Robotics developed the world's only compact underwater drone
(see 2 min video by ETH Zürich)) capable of terrain-aware autonomy in all waters, even in strong water flows and poor visibility. Our drone's exceptional stability sets it apart from existing technologies and overcomes existing barriers. This allows substituting divers in life-threatening conditions, streamlining operations and reducing costs and personnel demands.
Stand/Resultate
Our overall goal is to refine our current solution and develop a robust and market-ready product. On the tech- nical side, this includes the revision of the main electronics, our control unit and our own built user interface. We are now aiming for a deployable new iteration based on our current prototypes that maximizes the product
marketability and robustness of our system.
